About Zig ZieglerAZ
After nearly two decades of experience helping professional athletes accomplish the best performance of their careers, biomechanics and sports performance expert Zig Ziegler has emerged from being an industry secret to offer his skills and advice to the public. From his start in training Arizona high school football teams in speed, agility, and overall conditioning, Mr. Ziegler has conducted over 50,000 biomechanical assessments and now directs, produces, and hosts his own 60-minute show as the sports kinesiologist to air on the Fox Sports Network.
A graduate of Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado, Zig Ziegler obtained his B.A. in Kinesiology. During his college years, Mr. Ziegler participated in the 110-meter Hurdles, 400-meter hurdles and long jump at Western State College, earning Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference all-conference team status a total of seven times. Zig athletic career set an important foundation for his later career as a sports performance consultant. Ziegler began his first company in 1994, providing training programs for high school athletes and National Football League players including Chris Oldham, Seth Joyner, and National Football League Conference Champion Chris Walsh.
After eight years of successful programs that helped pro players stay on top of their game, Zig Ziegler gained an additional edge in his training capacity with the use of 3D motion-capture technology. With the combination of this technology and an expert eye, Mr. Ziegler identifies muscle imbalances and potential injuries, then administers programs to correct any issues. With the use of this software, Mr. Ziegler has consulted for top sports teams including the New York Mets and Phoenix Suns, conferring about the biomechanics and health potential of key trades such as pitcher Johan Santana and center Shaquille O'Neal. Mr. Ziegler also worked with O'Neal to improve his prowess behind the free-throw line, guiding him to one of the best second-half seasons of his career. In addition, Mr. Ziegler has consulted with sibling ball players Lauren and Jason Bay, helping Lauren Bay recover from multiple leg fractures and years of wearing a brace and allowing her to pitch pain-free.
In addition to his sports career, Zig Ziegler relishes the opportunity to spend time daily with his 14 year old daughter, family and friends. Zig also enjoys staying physically active by practicing weightlifting, as well as being an avid runner and hiker.
