About William Elsom
Having initially started a career in business, William Daniel Elsom decided to shift focus in the late 1980s when he studied for a law degree and then began building a successful legal career.
As a Staff Accountant for Jack D. Teter, C.P.A., in Houston, from 1973 to 1979, William Daniel Elsom prepared financial statements and tax returns and was responsible for the design, development, and implementation of systems that satisfied clients' business objectives.
Before obtaining a B.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas in Houston in 1985, William Daniel Elsom worked for a Fortune 500 drilling company for four years as a Project Cost Analyst and Project Coordinator responsible for capital investments, project administration and reporting, export financing, and cash management for the company.
William Daniel Elsom's first job in a law firm came in 1986 when he worked as a Controller and Administrator for Jones & Granger, Attorneys at Law, where he was responsible for all of the firm?s administrative functions. Some highlights of this position include the negotiation a $3 million line of credit increase in working capital, the purchase and sale of a number of entities, management of Internal Revenue Service interactions, service as an expert witness in a tax case, and negotiation of international contracts for commodity purchases.
William Daniel Elsom held this position for three years, then earning his J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law in Laramie in 1990. Mr. Elsom?s success in law began in school, where he was a Moot Court School Champion and regional competitor. He also completed an externship with the Wyoming State Supreme Court and became a member of the Order of Barristers.
After serving as an Associate Attorney at Ray Putney and Associates, Attorneys at Law, in Houston, William Daniel Elsom became a Managing Partner of Elsom and Elsom in Cody, Wyoming, in 1992. He went on to serve as a Partner with Daniell and Elsom in Houston in 2004. A Managing Partner of Steidley & Elsom, LLC, William Daniel Elsom continues to serve the Houston metropolitan area with a variety of legal services.
