Upon receipt of his Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology and Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Massachusetts, Wayne Dodwell relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, where he became Assistant Laboratory Manager at Mt. Sinai Medical Center. Demonstrating his proficiency in this role, Wayne Dodwell gained promotion to Assistant Vice President and worked in this capacity for the next two years. In 1984, the North Shore Medical Center in Salem, Massachusetts, recruited Wayne Dodwell to serve as Manager of Laboratory and Nuclear Medicine Services, which marked the beginning of a 14-year career with this organization. Following terms as Associate Director of Clinical Services and Vice President of Clinical Services, Wayne Dodwell rose to the rank of Vice President of Operations at the North Shore Medical Center, in which position he held responsibility for a substantial budget and effectively managed revenue cycle, cost containment, and business development. In 2000, Wayne Dodwell joined Brockton Hospital as Vice President of Operations and Business Development, helping to improve the services and revenues of the 276-bed facility. Between February 2001 and June 2002, Wayne Dodwell served as Vice President for Physician Practices at the Burlington, Massachusetts-based Lahey Clinic and focused his efforts on measurable increases to his organization’s financial performance. Recently, the Down East Health System in Machias, Maine, benefited from Wayne Dodwell's leadership ability and expertise in hospital and physician practice management through his endeavors as President and CEO from July 2002 to August 2009, during which time Dodwell generated a 71 percent revenue increase, developed new programs, improved existing departments, and gained Joint Commission accreditation. Returning to Boston, Massachusetts, at the end of this period, Wayne Dodwell established Dodwell @ Associates to provide the full spectrum of consulting services to hospitals and private practitioners. Wayne Dodwell is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
