Dr. Warren Licht is an accomplished, board-certified physician with more than two decades of experience. Currently, he serves the Director of the Medicine Service Line in Manhattan, with the North Shore-LIJ Health System. In this role, Dr. Licht maintains responsibility for overseeing the growth of the health care system’s primary care services and is responsible for the primary care community based practices, in Manhattan. Dr. Licht also serves as the Director for Medical Affairs for the Lenox Hill HealthPlex.Beyond this role, Dr. Warren Licht is a member of the medical staff at Lenox Hill Hospital, which is also affiliated with the North Shore-LIJ Health System. Moreover, he assists patients as an internist as part of the North Shore-LIJ Medical Group, one of the largest medical groups in the country, from his office at 927 Park Avenue on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
Before joining the North Shore-LIJ Medical Group and North Shore-LIJ Health System, Dr. Licht held administrative positions at New York Downtown Hospital, including Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs. For his longtime service at the institution and his dedication to the profession, Dr. Warren Licht’s peers recognized him with honors on several occasions. New York Downtown Hospital's Board of Trustees bestowed on him its 2011 Distinguished Physician Award and its medical staff a Distinction of Honor in the same year. In 2006, he received the New York State Patient Safety Award on behalf of the hospital.
An experienced practitioner of international travel medicine, as well, Dr. Warren Licht has taken part in several extramural professional pursuits. As the Medical Director and a board member of Bridges to Community, Inc., a nonprofit that advocates cross-cultural awareness, he assisted in the organization’s efforts to bring volunteers to Nicaragua to learn about global interdependency. Moreover, in 2009, Dr. Licht helped establish Cross Cultural Thresholds, Inc., a nonprofit corporation, in an effort to continue engaging cross-cultural relationships. As part of its program, Cross Cultural Thresholds helps create educational opportunities for underprivileged children in Kenya.
Away from his many professional responsibilities, Dr. Warren Licht takes time to enjoy life. When in New York, he likes sampling the city’s finest cuisine, but he is fond of traveling to gain insight into cultures abroad.
