The Von Weiss Dermatology Center is a private practice, with office buildings located in an 1820s historic home in Salem, Massachusetts. Established in 1972 by Dr. John von Weiss, the practice came under new ownership in 1998 at the hands of Dr. von Weiss’s son, Dr. Hans von Weiss. The goal of Von Weiss Dermatology Center has always been to offer accessible excellence in healthcare. With this in mind, the center accepts a variety of insurance plans, and works to ensure each patient receives individual, tailored care to fit his or her needs.
In the process of developing and expanding the business his father handed down to him, Dr. Hans von Weiss has welcomed several staff members to the team at Von Weiss Dermatology Center. In 2004, Dr. Jeannie Chung, a plastic surgeon, came to offer her expertise in facial plastic surgery and medical aesthetics. Dr. Chung graduated from the University of California, San Francisco, where she received the American Medical Women’s Association Award and the Dean’s Research Grant. She then completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in otolaryngology, and then received a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Chung is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the Massachusetts Medical Society, and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Elizabeth “Lisa” Crawford joined the practice in 2009 as a Nurse Practitioner. She graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing from Northeastern University in Boston, and worked as a staff nurse at New England Medical Center in Boston and Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center in Oakland, California. She is a member of the Dermatology Nurses’ Association and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
