Foreign language coach Virginia Hamori-Ota possesses more than 20 years of experience in developing the linguistic skills of business professionals and university students. A Corporate Trainer and Accent Coach for The Accent Reduction Institute in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Virginia Hamori-Ota administers an array of virtual training programs designed to help corporate employees improve their pronunciation with preliminary and post-training assessments, as well as materials development.

Throughout her term with this growing company, which began in September 2007, Virginia Hamori-Ota has been instrumental in developing a series of blended and virtual web-based instructional seminars for several hundred training participants at a major consulting firm. Virginia Hamori-Ota’s current professional endeavors include a position as an Instructor within the Foreign Languages Department of the University of Michigan-Flint, based in Michigan. In this role, she teaches French to undergraduates in their first and second year of foreign language.

A graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Virginia Hamori-Ota obtained a Ph.D. in Higher Education Organizational Behavior and Management. Dr. Hamori-Ota’s academic achievements also include a Master's in French and Linguistics and a Bachelor's in French from Indiana University, where she received the 1983 Teaching Excellence Award. Her flourishing career has encompassed an array of instructional positions in her industry, including her first job as a Corporate Trainer. Working in this capacity, Virginia Hamori-Ota offered developmental guidance to assorted corporate clients such as Eli Lilly, Heineken, and General Motors France. Some of Dr. Hamori-Ota’s other professional titles include Director in Continuing Education at The American Language Institute, as well as a two-year term as Director of Marketing and Recruiting for an American university branch campus based in Tokyo, Japan. Today, Virginia Hamori-Ota is a member of the American Society for Training and Development. In her free time, she enjoys playing USTA tennis.
