As the founder of the World Education Foundation, Chairman Vinod Gupta has entered into a strategic partnership with the William J. Clinton Foundation. Vinod Gupta established the Bill Clinton Science Center and Technology Center in the Indian town of Rampur Maniharan to serve high school students at his native school. Vinod Gupta has donated over $2 million to the center. In addition, Vinod Gupta and the World Education Foundation built the Hilary Clinton School for Mass Media in the Indian town of Rampur Maniharan, which affords opportunities for local girls to develop skills in communications and offers courses in writing, public speaking, photography, graphic design, and other subjects.
With an endowment of over $2 million, the Hilary Clinton School of Mass Media cements Vinod Gupta's commitment to a bright future for India's youth. Vinod Gupta has also set up and donated more than $4 million to the Ram Rati Gupta Women's Polytechnic for post-high school education, which was inaugrated by President Bill Clinton. In addition, Vinod Gupta has donated more than $2 million to the Rajiv Gandhi Schol of Intellectual Property Law at I.I.T. Vinod Gupta and the Vinod Gupta Charitable Foundation have also donated more than $1 million each to two proposed institutes at the University of Lucknow in India, Dr. Shanker Dayal Sharma Institute of Democracy (SDSIOD) and Dr. Giri Lal Gupta Institute of Public Health (GLGIOPH). These institutes will be of a standard comparable to the best in the world A graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Vinod Gupta donated $4 million to his alma mater to create the Vinod Gupta School of Management in 1993. Today, the Vinod Gupta School of Management holds pride of place as one of the premier business and engineering schools in the country, boasting an enrollment of 204 M.B.A. candidates and 34 P.G.D.B.M. (Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management) students. An alumnus of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln as well, Vinod Gupta has given more than $2.5 million in scholarships to minority students, funding the development of a small-business management curriculum. Through his long-held affiliation with former President Bill Clinton, Vinod Gupta has served as a Trustee with the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and currently holds a trusteeship with the William J. Clinton Foundation. Vinod Gupta earned a B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering, an M.S. in Engineering, an M.B.A., and honorary doctorates from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and I.I.T. Kharagpur.
