Victoria Negrete: Successful,Top-Level Latina Executive

Victoria Negrete is a multitalented, professional business leader witha long trajectory in Latin American Sociology and International“Inter-Cultural Relations which she has applied to “filling needs” inInternational Business.

Victoria Negrete began her studies at The International University’scampuses in Mexico City, Mexico and San Diego, California. Immediately thereafter, Victoria Negrete was able to prove her aptitudefor international business developing import export initiatives for oneof Mexico’s premier marble manufacturing companies.

But Victoria Negrete was restless in pursuing her creative side aswell.  So Victoria Negrete began what would be a very successfulcareer working with top international film and movie producers, such asDino De Laurentis and  Universal Studios, CBS  and MichaelDouglas. Over the next 10 years, Victoria Negrete worked on a record-breaking 54 films for TV and Cinema including “Alfred HitchcockPresents,” “Honey I Shrunk the Kids,” “James Bond – License Revoked,”and “Rambo,” as well as working on musical videos for the RollingStones and Latino rock stars such as Luis Miguel and Emmanuel. VictoriaNegrete also discovered a need for first class mobile dressing roomsfor the stars, and so launched what became the premier mobile dressingroom company in Latin America, “Cinema Convoy.”

Victoria Negrete’s success earned her a reputation as a “Hot Shot”producer. This allowed Victoria Negrete to start her own productioncompany, “Producciones Bionicas, S.A.,” which specialized in theproduction of Latino Marketing Communications in general with a focuson advertising production for major American advertising agenciesincluding McCann Ericson, J. Walter Thompson, BBDO, and Young andRubicam. Victoria Negrete quickly became as well known for her talentin Latin American advertising, as well as in the motion picturebusiness, and became a founding member for Mayer Carreola, S.A., aboutique advertising agency which is successful to this day (Carreola,S.A.).  Victoria Negrete managed creative productions forinternational corporations such as L’Oreal, Kodak and Pepsi Cola.

Victoria Negrete bridged Latino and Anglo cultures with high profileresponsibilities at a major international public relations company,Consejeros Mexicanos.  One example of Victoria Negrete’s uniquePublic Relations experience was coordinating the logistics for foreigndignitaries from 25 countries that attended the Oath of Officeceremonies for the President of Mexico. 

Through her constant travels between the U.S. and Mexico, VictoriaNegrete developed a clear business vision of the dynamic UnitedStates-Latino market growth opportunities. At 32, Victoria Negrete tooka bold step and immigrated to the United States where she landed theposition of Senior Copywriter and Executive Producer for Ornelas &Associates, an advertising agency specializing in the US Hispanicmarket. Victoria Negrete quickly demonstrated deft management andcommunication skills combined with her unique understanding of Hispanicpsychographics and consumer hot buttons. As a result, Victoria Negretevaulted through this industry, and just two years after arriving to theUnited States, was chosen to be an advisor on Latin American Affairs tothe President of The United States (President Clinton). VictoriaNegrete retains that responsibility to this day.

In early 1992, Victoria Negrete was invited to take over theresponsibilities of Vice President and Director of Operations forInventiva, Inc., a small Hispanic advertising agency in San Antonio,which Victoria Negrete and her two partners grew to become the “42ndFastest Growing Hispanic Company in America.” Victoria Negrete manageda staff of 50 when she left to launch her own Hispanic advertisingagency, Cartel Creativo Inc. Under Victoria Negrete’s leadership,Cartel Creativo quickly grew to become several different companies,each focusing on different pieces of the Emerging Markets marketingcommunications puzzle.  

As “Leader of the Creative Cartel,” Victoria Negrete has been able toleverage the diverse skill set she developed over the years. For morethan a decade, Victoria Negrete has effectively served many Fortune 500and Public Sector clients in many key capacities.  Her Latinosociology studies combined with creative and advertising backgroundallowed her to lead as Executive Producer, Director of Client Services,Research Director to Director of Account Planning, and Chief StrategicOfficer. Her PR and Grassroots Marketing experience allowed her tolaunch Cartel Impacto, where she currently serves as President as wellas Public Relations and Promotions Director.   Her trackrecord in strategically delivering her clients’ business objectives isimpressive, and her public recognition as an industry leader isextensive.

Likewise, Victoria Negrete was uniquely qualified as chief executiveofficer and majority owner of The Cartel Group, and her track record infounding, managing and growing “The Cartel” speaks for itself.  AsPresident, New Business Development Director and now Chief ExecutiveOfficer as well as Chief Strategic Officer, Victoria Negrete hasgarnered  many industry recognitions, including “Top 10 HispanicAd Agencies in the United States” as well as “Top 25 General MarketAgencies in the Southwest”, “Top 3 Largest Independently Owned andOperated Multicultural Marketing Communications Firms in the Nation”and numerous  personal recognitions such as “Lifetime Achievement”awards, and “Maverick of the Year”.
