Venita K Howell

Process management professional Venita K. Howell leverages more than a decade of experience in various leadership capacities to serve as a leader of ABM Industries, Inc.’s Project Management Office. In this role, Venita Howell consistently increases customer satisfaction, employee engagement, operational excellence, and company innovation by facilitating workshops, mapping and decomposing processes, developing business cases, and analyzing metrics. Venita K. Howell monitors the progress of such initiatives by assessing ABM's current business performance and collaborating with multiple business teams to pinpoint areas in need of improvement.

 

A graduate of The University of Georgia and Nova Southeastern University, Venita K. Howell obtained her Bachelor of Science in Geography with a focus on Geographical Information Science from the former institution and her Master of Science in Computer Information Science from the latter. After receiving a Master's degree in Computer Information Science, Ms. Howell accepted a position as an IT Specialist and Leader at IBM. Responsible for spearheading team efforts in the development and execution of organizational and process changes, as well as communication strategies, she identified skill gaps and coordinated readiness plans to address them. Following the two years with IBM,  Ms. Howell joined Hewlett-Packard Company, L.P., (HP) as a Technical Consultant and Program Manager.

 

Leading accounts and projects related to software and process improvement projects, she utilized the Lean Six Sigma methodology to increase client satisfaction, generate additional revenue, cut costs, and eliminate unnecessary work. Over the course of her career, Venita Howell has also functioned as a Project Manager for the Georgia Technology Authority (GTA); a Change Management Manager for HomeBanc Mortgage Corporation; a PMO Senior Consultant of IT Governance and Portfolio Manager for American International Group, Inc.; a Leader of the Strategy and Change Practice for IBM; a Senior Manager of Process Improvement consulting for Humana, and an ISO Manager for McKesson Corp.

 

Ms. Howell engages in many community service projects with organizations such as the Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless, the Center for Puppetry Arts, and Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless. She also volunteers her time to teach financing principals to young people and donates to the ASPCA (the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
