Trevor Carson is a professional football player who was born on March 5, 1988 in Downpatrick, which is a town in County Down in Northern Ireland, about 33 km south of Belfast.


Trevor Carson represented Northern Ireland internationally by being a part of the country’s Under-21 team. He was a part of the national Under-21 team that played in Wuppertal, Germany on the night of Friday, September 5, 2008.


Trevor Carson started his professional football career in 2004 at the Sunderland football club as a goalkeeper. He signed the professional terms with this club during the 2004-2005 season and was taken for the final three games of the season as the backup to Ben Alnwick, a goalkeeper who played for Sunderland from 2004 to 2007. Trevor Carson was given the jersey number 24 by this English Premier League club and he was seen in it for three consecutive seasons starting from the 2005-06 season.


Trevor Carson, during his stint at Sunderland in the year 2008, was sent to the English League Two football Club Chesterfield on loan on August 14. He agreed to play for this club as a loan player on a season-long loan deal, and this highly rated young goalkeeper made his professional debut for the club on August 23, 2008 in a 1-0 win over Grimsby football club while maintaining a clean sheet. After a week, Trevor Carson played in a Football League Two match against Wycombe Wanderers and followed it up with another appearance against Rotherham on September 6, 2008 helping his team win 1-0. As of September 2008, the recent game he played was against Dagenham & Redbridge on September 13.
