Tony Kane is Irish footballer born on August 29, 1987, who currently lives in Belfast, Northern Ireland.


Tony Kane made his debut in the Northern Ireland team by playing both for the under-18 and under-19 team. He then made his international debut for the Republic of Ireland in their under-21 team, where he played the first game against Luxembourg in 2006-07 season. Later, he moved back to Northern Ireland and was called up for the senior team. Tony Kane also played for the Northern Ireland U21s and became a regular member of the squad during the qualifying rounds for the 2009 European Under-21 Championship.


Tony Kane began his football career as a defender for the Blackburn Rovers youth club in 2004. He was also the Rovers team that won the Premier Academy League in 2004-05 season. After being a regular member of the Rover’s reserve team for a couple of years, he signed a contract with the club in 2006. As a part of a brief loan, Tony Kane was transferred to Stockport County, following which he was transferred to Cercle Brugge on a another loan deal in January 2007.


In his first appearance for the Cercle Brugge club, the team won the match against Zulte Waregem and he was voted the man of the match by the fans of the club for his impressive performance.
