Anthony James "Tony" Hibbert, better known as Tony Hibbert is a football player born on February 20, 1981 in Huyton, Merseyside. Nicknamed “Hibbo”, he is also an expert in the art of jockeying and last-ditch tackling.
Tony Hibbert started his career as a part of the Everton youth team that won the Football Association (FA) Youth Challenge Cup in 1998. Later on August 1, 2000, he was elevated from the reserves to the first team on signing a contract as a trainee with Everton manager David Moyes. He made his debut for Everton in a 2-0 win against West Ham United in 2001. Being a reliable performer, he grew up to become a stable England international player. Tony Hibbert, who used to play in the midfielder position of the team, is now a right-back player.
During the 2004-05 season, Tony Hibbert was rated the Best English Right-back by the ACTIM index. He was also the highest ranked English right-back occupying the 25th position with a rating of 4.68. David Moyes, Everton manager, claims him as one of the outstanding players of the team and is a good defender. He was praised for his honesty and also termed as an efficient player who never puts his team down.
