Toni Kallio is a Finnish defender who comfortably plays in left back and centre back positions and also as a left winger. He was born on August 9, 1978 in Tamper and is often referred to as, “The Bonecrusher”, among football fans in Finland. Toni Kallio was included into the Finland national football team in 2000 and as of 2008, he has appeared in 39 matches and scored 2 goals.
Toni Kallio started his career with Tampereen Pallo-Veikot (TPV), a Finnish football club in 1996. He played 18 games during his stint with TPV and scored 6 times for it. Toni Kallio was sent on loan to FC Jazz Pori in 1997. He signed on Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi (HJK Helsinki) in 2000 and played 123 games for the club during 2000-04. In the season that followed, he joined Molde F.K., a First Division football club from Molde, Norway, and made 52 appearances for it scoring 6 goals.
After a brief stint with Fulham F.C., an English football team, on loan, he officially signed up for it in January 2008. He made his debut for Fulham in a 1-0 win over Arsenal F.C. Subsequently, Toni Kallio went on to win the Man of the Match award, conferred to him by visitors of the BBC website.
