Tom Saiz

Thomas J. Saiz earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting from California’s National University in 1985 and has since established an impressive professional career. With business experience dating back to the age of 10, Thomas J. Saiz appreciates, supports, and demonstrates a solid work ethic. As Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Grossmont Healthcare District, Thomas Saiz handles a number of fiscal duties for the agency, including risk management, financial planning, debt and investment management, and recordkeeping. Tom Saiz’s current employer strives to meet the unmet healthcare needs of the community. Throughout his high school and college years, Thomas Saiz maintained positions as a dishwasher and food server for the Broadway Department Store in La Mesa, California. After receiving his BBA, Thomas J. Saiz joined a number of various corporations, where he obtained the titles of Senior Accountant, General Ledger Accountant, and Internal Auditor. In 1996, Calderon, Jaham & Osborn named Tom Saiz a Partner at the firm’s San Diego office, where he concentrated on healthcare and governmental practices. Six years later, Thomas J. Saiz bought the company and entered into an asset purchase agreement with a larger statewide firm, with which he became a non-owner Partner. During his time with a large Southern California regional accounting and consulting firm, Thomas Saiz provided California’s non-profit and governmental organizations, healthcare facilities, and private sector establishments with accounting services such as financial analyses, compliance evaluations, SAS 70 audits, and property and equipment inventory identification. Having accrued relevant experience, Tom Saiz established his own accounting and consulting practice, Thomas J. Saiz, CPA. In this role, he continued to serve California’s government and nonprofit sectors, gaining further knowledge which he applies in his work with Grossmont Healthcare District. Thomas J. Saiz has achieved recognition in San Diego Metropolitan Magazine’s Top 40 under 40. Additionally, the United States Small Business Administration named Thomas Saiz the 1997 Accountant Advocate of the Year, and the National University awarded Tom Saiz a place as a Distinguished Alumnus in 1998.
