About Todd Skoglund
Todd Skoglund created one of the world’s most renowned emergency response training institutions, Signet North America, in 2006. Possessing over a decade of experience in emergency response training, Skoglund developed Signet North America to teach chemical producers, fire departments, transporters, and governmental agencies ranging from the local to the federal level how to manage hazardous materials (hazmat) and other potentially dangerous situations. Governments in the United States, Latin America, Canada, Great Britain, Saudi Arabia, and other nations have relied on Todd Skoglund’s expertise to educate their officers on how to handle crises. As Principal Officer with Signet North America, Todd Skoglund holds the responsibility of developing programs that comply with national and international standards, training instructors, advertising his services, updating the business’ website (www.signetnorthamerica.com), and participating in public relations through speaking engagements and articles. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Incident Command System (ICS) curriculum developed by Todd Skoglund includes classes that introduce the incident management system, teach multi-hazard emergency planning for schools, and enlighten executives about the ICS. Skoglund’s hazmat program features lectures on protocol for first responders to weapons of mass destruction, air monitoring, railroad awareness, and chemistry based on National Fire Protection Association guidelines. Other topics concentrate on confined space and trench rescue, wildland firefighting, and school safety. Before opening Signet North America, Todd Skoglund spent over a decade with the Transportation Technology Center, Inc. (TTCI) Emergency Response Training Center in Pueblo, Colorado, instructing on 24-hour hazmat monitoring, chemical transportation terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, and tank car specialists. Beyond teaching, he engaged himself in emergency preparedness by serving as a firefighter and Hazmat Technician for TTCI (a division of the Association of American Railroads) and the Pueblo Emergency Response Team. Continuing to aid his community, Todd Skoglund currently volunteers with the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
