About Tinel Bedford
New York Police Department Sergeant and criminalist Tinel Bedford has taught students as a Lecturer at the City University of New York in New York City since 2005. In this position, Tinel Bedford focuses his courses on conducting crime scene investigations and evaluating physical evidence. Tinel Bedford teaches criminalistics, basics of microscopy, fingerprint analysis, DNA analysis, thin layer chromatography, interpreting blood spatters, and other elements involved in forensic science. Tinel Bedford’s students award him high marks for his teaching. Tinel Bedford earned his Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a concentration in Criminalistics. Tinel Bedford holds memberships in the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the International Association of Identification. For two decades, Tinel Bedford has served the citizens of New York as a Police Officer with the NYPD, becoming a Detective Investigator, Sergeant and Detective Sergeant. While serving with the police force, Tinel Bedford earned several citations and took part in hundreds of professional development courses ranging from undercover operations to first responder programs to combat terrorism.
