About Tiger Lan
Tiger Lan laid the foundations for his current career as Chief Technology Officer of Reputation.com with a comprehensive education that began at Tsinghua University in Beijing, where he studied Computer Science from 1993 until 1998. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree, Mr. Lan moved to the United States to attend Michigan State University in East Lansing, where he earned his Master’s degree in Computer Science in 2000. While still studying at Michigan State University, Tiger Lan began working as a Software Engineer at Microsoft Corporation, where he helped integrate Hotmail into the Windows platform.
After his graduation, Tiger Lan took his talents to Ariba Inc., a business commerce company, where he served as a Senior Software Engineer. While at Ariba, Tiger Lan served as an important member of the on-demand enterprise software launch team. During more than five years at the company, he worked with Ariba Analytics, Ariba Category Management, Ariba Contract Workbench, and the Ariba Supplier Network. While the core team focused on next-generation products, he reported directly to the Chief Technology Officer. Then in 2005, the hard-working engineer moved to Yahoo! Inc., where he worked to improve Yahoo! Travel, Marketplace Group, and Search, and helped build a partnership with the online photo storage company, Flickr. Mr. Lan also co-created a Flickr-integrated photo upload and display module for Trip Planner, an application that attracted consistent, revenue-generating traffic. Tiger Lan’s accomplishments at Yahoo! also included helping to organize the very first Yahoo! Hack Day, implementing important upgrades to the company’s Trip Planner service, and creating the back- and front-end of a heavy JavaScript- and XML (AJAX)-based interactive calendar-scheduling module.
