About Tiffany Dubin

For over 15 years, Tiffany Dubin has held a series of positions in the challenging auction industry in New York. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Internal Relations from Georgetown University in 1991, Tiffany Dubin embarked on a unique journey into the world of fine arts consulting and appraising.

From 1992 to 2000, Tiffany Dubin served as the Private Client Services Representative for Sotheby’s world headquarters in New York City. As a liaison between the clients and Sotheby’s specialty department, she was asked to discover and qualify new collectors in various demographics that had been previously untouched.

After receiving much praise for her outstanding services to the firm, Tiffany Dubin was given the appropriate resources to break ground on a new department within the company. In 1996, she became the founder and Director of Sotheby’s Fashion Department. While the auction house had been in existence for over two and half centuries, Sotheby’s had never looked into auctioning 20th century European haute couture and American ready-to-wear items previously. By building relationships with esteemed designers such as Gucci, Chanel, Bergdorf Goodman, and many others, Ms. Dubin used sponsorship and co-branding to promote the department. She coordinated theme-oriented auctions in categories such as cocktail dresses, handbags, “Paris à la Mode,” and The Scaasi Couture Collection, which donated proceeds to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Today, Tiffany Dubin attends to the needs of Sotheby’s Private Client Group, serving as the Private Client Liaison. She has also co-authored a book with Ann E. Berman titled Vintage Style: Buying and Wearing Classic Vintage Clothes. Ms. Dubin has given three professional lectures over the years probing into such topics as “The Art of Collecting,” “The Art of Reinvention: Reprising Vintage and Retro Fashion,” and “Fashion: The Newest Art.”
