The Smile Center makes patient comfort and security a high priority. With a staff of nearly 100 to cover 6 locations across the greater San Antonio area, owners Dr. Stephen and Abby Simpton guarantee children and their families the best care for their teeth and gums in a stress-free setting. The options start with free transportation to the appointment by taxi if the patient lives within a five-mile radius of the office. The reception area of The Smile Center includes playscapes for children, an indoor playroom with a jungle theme where kids can work with building blocks or watch television, and video game consoles. Each care room also has a television set if the client wishes to watch a show. Patients also have the option of conscious sedation if that is desired. After each visit, young patients get access to gifts such as Smile Pops, coloring sheets, and balloons. Every month, The Smile Center raffles off four movie passes to clients who complete a Patient Feedback Survey. The Simptons and The Smile Center support the San Antonio Sports Foundation Annual Streetball Slam and the Buckaroo Breakfast Rodeo Kick-Off. The San Antonio dental group also provides funding for Girls Inc. Science Festival, National Neighborhood Night Out, the annual Paws for Smiles pet adoption, and the San Antonio Rampage hockey team. In addition, the Simptons have sponsored organizations in the San Antonio Hispanic community, such as Fiesta Patrias and the Latina Women’s Health Conference. Dr. Simpton serves as a member of the medical advisory board for Career Point College. Dr. Stephen Simpton earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Texas Tech University. He went on to the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston to get his DDS. Dr. Simpton maintains memberships in the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the San Antonio District Dental Society.
