The National Society of Collegiate Scholars

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars was founded in 1994 on The George Washington University campus. Since then, the organization has grown into one of the most prominent and nationally recognized collegiate honor societies in the country. Designed to reward the hard work and scholastic achievement of successful college freshmen and sophomores, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is an invitation-only society. In order to receive an invitation to join The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, a student must rank in the top 20% of their class and have a GPA of at least 3.4 out of 4.0. Acceptance into the organization is accompanied by a special convocation ceremony and a press release for local media.

 

Once a student becomes a member of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, he or she receives access to a wide range of practical benefits. Aside from providing a place to connect with likeminded peers, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars offers the opportunity to apply for jobs and internships with some of the nation's leading companies. Additionally, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars provides more annual undergraduate scholarship funding than any other collegiate honor organization in the country.
