About The National Society of Collegiate Scholars

Founded on The George Washington University campus in 1994, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars has emerged over the last 15 years as one of the most prominent collegiate honors organizations in the United States. An invitation-only organization, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars extends its membership to first-year and second-year college students who are in the top 20% of their class with an average grade point average of 3.4 or higher. Active at over 235 colleges and universities nationwide, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is a fully licensed 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

 

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars offers numerous impressive benefits to its members, including access to professional networking events, leadership training seminars, and study abroad opportunities. The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is also recognized for providing its members with access to a variety of exciting internships and entry-level job opportunities through partnerships with leading companies, including Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Accenture, and more. Renowned for its scholarship programs, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars awards hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships annually.

 

Dedicated to providing a positive forum for students to succeed, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars selects a number of students each year to participate in The National Leadership Council. Representing members from campuses across the United States, The National Leadership Council provides students with an opportunity to provide direct feedback on The National Society of Collegiate Scholars to the organization. Members of The National Leadership Council are also honored with the distinction of speaking at their chapter's annual invocation ceremonies.
