About The Crossing

The Crossing, based in Elk River, Minnesota, and boasting four campuses outside of Minneapolis and St. Paul, maintains a busy schedule of church services, small groups, and kids and student activities. The Crossing also holds Twirl events specifically for women. Between the 4 campuses in Elk River, Zimmerman, Princeton, and Big Lake, The Crossing Church offers 11 services per weekend, drawing thousands of attendees every week. Pastor Eric Dykstra and Creative Pastor Ted Snyder work with a full volunteer production staff to design the services at The Crossing in stark contrast to the traditional church format, using videos, rock-show staging, music, and messages delivered in creative and exciting ways.

Membership at The Crossing Church has exploded since its founding in 2004, leading to classes aimed at connecting people, such as The Starting Line Class. The Starting Line Class serves as a comprehensive introduction to volunteering, studying, and connecting with others at this very unique church. Designed to "take your faith below the surface," Cellar classes delve into Biblical history and theology, such as the six-week class The Jesus Myth, which explores Christ's true character and misconceptions people have about Him. Additionally, The Crossing maintains online community groups and a quarterly event specifically for women, called Twirl, which inspires women to be confident in God's design for them. Pastor Kelly Dykstra, wife of Pastor Eric, hosts these events.

Pastor Eric Dykstra's vision of The Crossing Church includes a wide range of children's ministry. From infants to teenagers, the organization offers entertaining, age-appropriate education for adolescents of all ages. Additionally, The Crossing encourages teenage students to get involved running lights and sound during services, teaching kids classes, and working in the church's administrative office. This invitation to volunteer also extends to adult members, and in fact The Crossing relies on its volunteers for many of its day-to-day functions. For more information about getting involved in the church designed for "people who don't 'do' church," visit The Crossing's official website at www.crossing-church.com.
