  Taylor Halsted is a native of Manchester, Massachusetts, and a civil and environmental engineering major at Villanova University. An active participant in campus life, Halsted belongs to a variety of student organizations, including the Villanova Entrepreneurship Society and The Owl Coterie, a student group he founded that discusses current events and economic policies. Taylor Halsted also belongs to the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and is actively involved in Villanova's robust Greek community. As a brother in the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, Halsted serves as the Philanthropy Chair and also sat on the University's Greek Awards Committee. Taylor Halsted's passion for community service has influenced his academic pursuits at Villanova, and his desire to help others has shaped his career path thus far. In the spring of 2009, Halsted accepted a position as a Project Management Consultant with the non-profit organization Engineers Without Borders and helped better the lives of the residents of a small underdeveloped village in Nicaragua. Prior to this, Taylor Halsted worked as Program Director for Prep@Pingree, a summer education program designed to help Massachusetts urban students gain admission to private high schools. As Program Director with Prep@Pingree, Halsted served as one of the program's main administrators, as well as a math tutor and afternoon activities coordinator. In 2006, Taylor Halsted was honored to receive The President’s Volunteer Service Award in recognition of his work restoring natural environments and refurbishing churches and museums throughout the British Virgin Islands. Beyond engineering and community service, Taylor Halsted is passionate about finance and business. He has already earned a business minor and is working on engineering entrepreneurship and philosophy minors. In 2008, Halsted helped co-found Fun Clothing Company, which was profiled in the university newspaper, The Villanovan. In 2009, the Manchester, Massachusetts, native accepted a summer internship with Faithful+Gould in Boston. As a Project Management Intern, he provided valuable cost-estimation assistance for the company's Operations Director. Taylor Halsted is a member of Villanova University's class of 2012. He enjoys playing guitar and harmonica and listening to music in his free time.
