About Susan Roesgen
Susan Roesgen - Professional Summary: CNN reporter Susan Roesgen joined the team in 2005 as the first Gulf Coast Bureau correspondent. For the next two years, Susan Roesgen detailed the Hurricane Katrina rescue relief efforts, as well as the reinstatement of the Mardi Gras carnival. Prior to becoming a full time member of the CNN team, Susan Roesgen contributed as a freelance journalist to both CNN and National Public Radio (NPR), creating both on-screen and audio reports on Hurricane Katrina and other national news. Before taking on her assignments in the Gulf Coast, Susan Roesgen co-hosted National Geographic Today with the National Geographic Channel in Washington, D.C., reporting on daily news and cultural events. Most notably, Susan Roesgen worked alongside Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass to create an in-depth series about Egypt. Susan Roesgen won an award for her five-part series in Israel from the Louisiana Associated Press. In addition to her time with the National Geographic Channel, NPR, and CNN, Susan Roesgen has 15 years of experience in on-screen reporting for local stations around the country. Susan Roesgen co-anchored newscasts for KATV-TV in Little Rock, Arkansas; KFMB-TV in San Diego, California; WABC-TV in New York, New York; and WDSU-TV in New Orleans, Louisiana. Before launching her career in journalism, Susan Roesgen graduated Magna Cum Laude from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. Susan Roesgen earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.
