Sunny Sohal is a professional cricket player who was born on November 10, 1987 in Mohali, Punjab, India. He is a right-hand batsman and a leg-break bowler.


Sunny Sohal began his first class career with Punjab and played an important role in defeating Jammu and Kashmir in a league match by scoring a spectacular century in the North Zone Inter-State Cricket Tournament (U-17), finishing with a score of 132 in his match winning knock that included 23 boundaries. Sunny Sohal made his debut for the Punjab side during the 2005/06 season and also played in a match against Orissa on December 17, 2007 at Mohali. As of 2008, he has made 268 from 6 matches, including two half-centuries with a personal best score of 95 in first class career. In the same year, Sunny Sohal was selected for the India U-19 side for the 2007 U-19 World Cup held at Malaysia. In this tournament, he played a crucial role in a match against Sri Lanka U-19 team on February 13, 2007, by scoring 97 runs that helped his team post a healthy total and seal the victory. Sunny Sohal was a member of the squad that lifted 2007 U-19 World Cup by defeating South Africa U-19 in the final. He made his Twenty20 debut for Punjab in a game against Haryana at Delhi on April 3, 2007.


In 2008, Sunny Sohal signed with the Indian Premier League side Kings XI Punjab. He was a member of the squad that reached the semi-finals of the tournament against Mumbai Indians on April 25, 2008.
