Stuart Nicholson, an English footballer, was born on February 3, 1987 in Newcastle upon Tyne. He was nicknamed “The Knife” in the football world, because of his sharpness in front of goal and he plays as a striker. In May 2006, Stuart Nicholson replaced Theo Walcott in the England Under-19 national team and he made his first international appearance by coming on as a substitute in a match against Belgium.
Stuart Nicholson started his career in football by joining West Bromwich Albion in 2005 and on January 17, 2006 he made his debut for the club as an extra-time substitute in a match against Reading at the Football Association (FA) Cup. Four days later, Stuart Nicholson played his first Premiership match in a clash with Sunderland at The Hawthorns and went on to win the West Bromwich Albion Young Player of the Year award for 2005–06 season. His performances earned him a place in the first-team for the 2006-07 season, during which he scored his first senior goal on August 24, 2006 at the first round of the League Cup against Leyton Orient and followed it up with another goal in the next round against Cheltenham.
In November 2006, Stuart Nicholson was loaned to Bristol Rovers, a club he supported since childhood, and went on to net twice out of the ten games he played for the club before being recalled to West Brom. He returned to Bristol Rovers and scored a brace on March 17, 2007 in a match against Notts County at Memorial Stadium. Stuart Nicholson also netted the winning goal on March 20, 2007 in a match against Stockport County. During his second tenure with the club, he appeared in twelve matches and scored four goals.
Stuart Nicholson went on a season-long loan to Shrewsbury Town in August 2007 and by December he had played 14 league matches for the club, netting once. Later that month, he returned to Albion and on January 18, 2008 he was transferred to Wrexham on a three-month loan deal. Stuart Nicholson featured in 13 matches for Wrexham, before signing Newcastle Blue Star in August 2008.
