1st Gear Music was formed by two musicians - George Gillis and Greg Podoliak - because they couldn't easily get for themselves high-end, boutique-level guitar and bass gear, amps, custom parts and accessories.

 

Product Manager Greg Podoliak is an accomplished guitarist who has taught advanced guitar theory and technique for many years. Sales Manager George Gillis is an accomplished gear head. For the past 25 years, he has both built and modified guitars and basses, using parts and accessories not commonly found in music stores or on websites.

 

As a result, 1st Gear Music focuses mainly on quality, unique guitar and bass instruments, amplifiers and other custom gear that you won't necessarily find in traditional brick-and-mortar music stores or on music websites.
