Steven Wood Ojai

Steven Wood, of Ojai, California, is a professionally trained Biomechanist and a successful investment banker. Since establishing the boutique investment firm Bespoke Capital, LLC, in 2005, Wood and his partners evaluate approximately 1,000 investment possibilities annually, performing due diligence and assessing their suitability for funding. They ultimately select just a small handful and then structure an appropriate investment package and recommend it to their clients. Steven Wood and his partners have raised over $200 million for the companies they have chosen, including such notables as Proteus Energy Corporation; Facebook; and BookCrossing, Inc.

Steven Wood still continues his involvement with biomechanics, primarily by consulting with clients and providing expert testimony. Wood is a member of the biomechanist team at Roger Clark Associates, LLC, an engineering consulting firm that specializes in reconstructing accidents and researches various aspects of motor vehicle safety. In addition, Steven Wood is the principal at Biomechanics Solutions LLC.

Steven Wood’s studied at Queen’s University, in Kingston, Ontario. He earned a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education in Biomechanics and a Bachelor of Arts in American History in 1994. In 1996, he earned a Master of Science in Biomechanics. While at Queen’s University, Wood joined the American Kang Duk Won Karate Association, ultimately earning a second-degree black belt and qualifying as an instructor; he gives instructional presentations and seminars and provides professional-level coaching.

Steven Wood supports programs and organizations devoted to providing a better future for children. Actively involved in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada program throughout his years at Queen’s University, Wood today gives generously to the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and the Ojai Valley Community Church.
