Steven Smith - Professional Summary:   30 years service in the Royal Air Force as a Mechanical maintenace technician, reaching the rank of Chief Technician. 13 Months as a quality Auditor for Fabricom Contracting Ltd, part of the GDF SUEZ Group.  I was the Transport Manager for Supreme Food Services, part of the Supreme Global Service Solutions Group, Controlling all transportation of rations to the UN troops stationed in Chad and the Central African Republic, either by air or road. Now the Operations Manager for Supreme Food Services in the Ivory Coast, responsible for Operationsl aspects of the contract with the UN.

 

Steven Smith - Professional Experience:    I am an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer who has served as a member of the Royal Air Force for 30 years. I attained the rank of Chief Technician in the Ground Support Equipment trade and was the Mechanical Trade Manager in the General Engineering Section at RAF Waddington, Lincoln.
The trade is responsible for the maintenance, rectification and installation of Power generation, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Refrigeration, Lifting tackle, Storage media systems and a whole range of other specialist items.
 I was responsible for the daily running of the Ground Support Equipment workshop and ensuring that the correct priority was placed on the current work load.
I was the section Health & Safety advisor, Risk assessor, COSHH assessor, Quality Auditor and was heavily involved in Continuous Improvement. Having taken part in numerous events and eventually leading the main event within the section, to restructure the working pattern within the section. I was responsible for compiling annual appraisals, ensuring discipline was maintained, and ensuring all legal requirements, such as PUWER and LOLER regulations were complied with. I was the point of contact for all the end user sections within the Unit when ever there was a problem and was in regular contact with the Aircraft Support Intergrated Project Team, who was our main equipment and spares supplier, trying to resolve equipment shortfalls.
