Leveraging more than two decades of managerial experience, Steven Lamar has played an integral role in the rapid expansion of Allied Container Systems Inc. (ACS), a military training company headquartered in Pleasant Hill, California. ACS designs and manufactures highly transportable structures ideal for urban training operations, as well as habitable structures that can be utilized as emergency shelters, dining facilities, restrooms, sleeping quarters, or common areas. Currently acting as a Director and Chief Operating Officer of ACS, Steven Lamar oversees the company’s relationship with the U.S. government to provide urban combat training environments and plays an active role in other financial aspects of the enterprise. Since joining ACS in 2006, Mr. Lamar has proven instrumental in increasing revenue nearly twentyfold. In addition to his managerial duties, Steven Lamar contributes to ACS in his role as a Director on the Board.
Aside from his work with ACS, Steven Lamar presides as the Chief Executive Officer of Jibe Audio, LLC, a consumer electronics company he founded in 2006. In the firm’s early years, Mr. Lamar struck a deal with Dr. Dre and Interscope Records to design and manufacture the Beats brand of headphones. Currently, Steven Lamar and his associates at Jibe Audio are creating a new wireless iPod docking station and audio headphone product.
From 1998 to 2005, Steven Lamar acted as the Managing Partner of BayStar Capital Management, LLC, overseeing more than $750 million in investments and producing a 177 percent internal rate of return (IRR) for investors. He previously gained exposure to institutional investing through Shoreline Pacific Institutional Finance, where he represented various parties in nearly two dozen transactions as a Vice President of Institutional Sales. His initial experience with investing and financials came with Wells Fargo and Citibank North America, where he worked as a Mortgage Consultant and Relationship Manager, respectively. During his time in these positions, Steven Lamar participated in the companies’ management training programs. A graduate of San Diego State University, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
