About Steven J. Gordon
Receiving his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law, Steve Gordon has acted as a Partner and Of Counsel with Gordon & Elias L.L.P. for nearly a decade. The firm added Jeff Seely in 2010 and the firm is now called Gordon, elias & Seely, L.L.P. Steve Gordon concentrates on Jones Act maritime injuries, Federal Employer’s Liability Act railroad employee injuries and Truck Accident litigation all on a nationwide basis.
Steve Gordon began his education with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy with a Minor in Latin from Florida State University in Tallahassee, close to where he was raised. Moving to Texas, Steve Gordon achieved enrollment with the state’s oldest and the country’s largest private law college called South Texas College of Law. Upon graduation, Steve Gordon passed the Texas State Bar in 1985. His high bar exam results entitled him to opt-in to the Washington D.C. Bar. A decade later, Steve Gordon ensured his competency in maritime law by passing the Louisiana Bar exam.
Achieving authorization to practice in the federal judiciary, Steve Gordon may represent clients in Northern, Eastern, and Southern Texas US District Courts and US Bankruptcy Courts, as well as Middle, Western, and Eastern US District Courts in Louisiana. Steve Gordon also holds a Personal Injury Trial Law Board Certification from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Steve Gordon’s certification represents expertise in 20 areas of law accredited by the Supreme Court of Texas-authorized Board. Steve Gordon also holds membership with the Maritime Law Association of the United States and the American Association for Justice’s Interstate Trucking Litigation Group, and Railroad Law ad Admiralty Law Sections of AAJ.
