As one of very few members of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), Dr. Steven Covici was board certified in 1999 and completed an intensive fellowship of clinical training in oculofacial plastic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania.
Founding Steven J. Covici, M.D., F.A.C.S. in 1999, Dr. Covici soon built his solo practice into one of the premier medical offices of its kind, with services in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as facial aesthetic surgery. Through his clinic and consistently received top rankings from patients and fellow practitioners alike. As a testament to his performance, Dr. Steven Covici won the Patients Choice Award for patient-centered practice management in 2008. In addition to his duties at his private practice, Dr. Steven Covici has privileges at Springfield’s Mercy Medical Center and Baystate Medical Center. Dr. Covici has served as a member of the Education Committee for the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, both writing board questions and administering the oral board examinations.
Prior to the formation of his private practice, Dr. Steven Covici completed a fellowship in Oculofacial and Reconstructive Surgery at the Center for Human Appearance at the University of Pennsylvania and a residency in Ophthalmology through the Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. A graduate of Northwestern University Medical School and the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Steven Covici holds an M.D. and B.A. from these respective institutions.
