 I am currently working with Jim Gallant of Gallant Communications, a full service advertising agency, by introducing new prospective clients to Jim. Gallant Communications is an agency dedicated to creating & developing an effective advertising campaign for their clients. I am also working on a personal project. I am developing a company (DrugPlus Testing & Supply, LLC) which offers drug testing kits to parents of teens through an ecommerce web site. I am a self taught web designer (with limited skills) and I have ventured into internet marketing arena. My primary background has been in departmental resort management in the timeshare industry. I have been involed in business development as a department head and for start-up companies.

 

 

Steven Brubaker - Professional Experience:

 

May 2001 to January 2009: Collections Manager


Understand the legalities concerning the collection of debt. Responsibilities included: Collection of overdue timeshare association accounts including foreclosure and legal collection tactics. Oversee the involvement and collections by our third party collection agencies contracted by the owners associations to recover first placement of delinquent maintenance fees. Work closely with delinquent owners to recover debt and other ownership issues. This position demands high problem-solving and negotiation skills.

 

June 2006 to January 2009: A Departmental Safety Representative & Committee Member

 

Attended monthly safety meetings to help promote safety awareness to employees. Preformed departmental safety inspections per OSHA guidelines as directed by safety manager.

 

July 1997 to May 2001: Front Office Manager

 

Involved in the successful transition of the location of the Front Desk in 1998 and implementation of a new computer system in 1999. Developed and implemented a training manual for all front office staff. Responsibilities include: Providing quality customer service, preparation of departmental budget, management of front desk clerks, phone operators and night audit which includes interviewing, hiring and scheduling staff, and overseeing training of new staff. Developed a diplomatic management style to successfully overcome issues and keep positive relationships with housekeeping, maintenance, reservations, rental services, security and the sales & marketing departments.

 

March 1997 to July 1997: Quality Assurance Manager

 

Instrumental in the start-up of the owner's association quality control and refurbishment program. Responsibilities included: Inspection of facilities for replacement and refurbishment's, coordinate placement of furniture with housekeeping and engineering departments, inspection of facilities for general maintenance and housekeeping, quality and inventory checks for new construction of units.

 

November 1996 to March 1997: Night Operations Manager

 

Responsibilities included: Quality customer service, general management of ski area staff, supervised office staff which included head cashiers, cashiers and telephone operators. Created and distributed evening ski reports.

 

June 1993 - February 1997: Owner and Manager of a Sub Shoppe

 

Averaged nearly 25% growth in sales over the first three years. Instrumental in the concept, design and implementation of the business plan for a food service establishment. Creative and resourceful with raising start-up capital. In order to be successful, understood the importance of recruiting a business partner with a strong food service background. Involved in day-to-day operations including payroll, marketing, and bookkeeping. Sold remaining interest to business partner in February 1997.

Steven Brubaker - Interests:

 

When I am not involved with a business project or spending time with my wife, Dara and our three kids, I enjoy golfing, fishing, skiing, ice hockey, camping, mountain biking, not neccessarily in that order. I am also a board member of Shenandoah Soccer Officials Association (SSOA). We are a group of soccer officials that supply refferee's to our local area high schools.
