Army officer, HM forces (1984-1988)
Captain

Served in Ulster, Canada and the Falkland Islands. Commander of a Rifle Company (120 soldiers) based in South East Fermanagh and South Armagh, Northern Ireland, for the final year of my service.

James Capel & Co (HSBC) (1988-1990)
Executive, Corporate Finance

Managed a range of transactions, as part of the leading revenue-generating team in a department of 120 staff. Listed several new investment trusts, carried out private placings, takeovers and privatisations.

Société Générale Merchant Bank (1990-1993)
Director, Corporate Finance

Advised corporate clients on a variety of transactions, including public and private acquisitions, fund-raisings and flotations. Appointed head of Corporate Finance in Société Générale’s Asian Corporate finance business, Asia Credit, prior to attending LBS.

PA Consulting Group (1994–2000)
Head of M&A, Board Director PA Strategy Partners

Responsible for M&A service area, including a London-based team and global interest group.

Lead developer of all key M&A services, particularly acquisition strategy, due diligence, post deal integration, joint ventures and alliances. Assignments successfully completed for BA, BHP, Société Générale, DTI and DoT, among others.

Twice winner of PA’s international Thought Leadership Competition, its primary marketing tool, with papers on post acquisition management and joint ventures.

Antfactory (2000-2002)
Investment Director

Developed and ran a Private Equity Joint Venture between antfactory and Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) formed to identify, invest in and consult for early stage technology businesses. Created similar Joint Ventures in 16 countries in two way and three way deals (including CitiGroup and Accenture). Developed a similar joint venture with Lloyds TSB. Several successful transactions, including the acquisition and integration of a small investment bank (of which I became FD and head of corporate finance), private placings for financial services businesses and an investment in Europe’s fastest growing call centre business. The business was wound down in late 2002.

antfactory was a $600m technology-focused incubator, incorporating management consulting and investment banking.
ISB Merchant Banking 2002-2004
Executive Director

Founder member in the London Office responsible for progressing transactions in the unlisted arena. Such transactions include acquisitions by way of integrated finance, MBO and strategic purchase, together with fundraisings focused on the food sector.

ISB is a Nordic bank, with a $6bn balance sheet.
Chief Executive Officer Committed Capital (UK) Ltd and Managing Director Equitech Financial Services Ltd 2004 to date

CEO of the UK subsidiary of an Australian private equity, consulting and corporate finance house. The UK arm is based in New Bond Street, and is focused on Financial services and Media sectors. The company provides corporate finance, management consulting and investment to SMEs. We have completed several investments, fundraisings and management consulting assignments. In July 2005 we acquired Equitech, a technology focused corporate finance boutique.
