About Steve Gordon
Addressing the needs of a diverse clientele, lawyer Steve Gordon co-founded Gordon & Elias L.L.P. in 2000. The firm recently added Jeff Seely as a Partner and it is now called Gordon, Elias & Seely, L.L.P. Steve Gordon represents clients with (1) maritime, and admiralty law cases; (2) FELA railroad employee injuries and (3) Truck accident litigation. Along with his law partners, Steve Gordon has won several high-profile lawsuits at Gordon & Elias L.L.P. They have literally recovered close to 500 million dollars in settlements and trials over the years.
While maintaining an exclusive caseload, Steve Gordon and his team possess the resources and experience to obtain settlements from some of the largest insurance companies and corporations. Steve Gordon provides initial consultations with potential clients at no cost, gaining a better understanding of their needs, issues, and goals. Some of Steve Gordon’s successes include cases on behalf of clients affiliated with the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Division, the United Transportation Union, and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen.
Steve Gordon is associated with the American Association of Justice’s Railroad Law Section, Admiralty Law Section, Interstate Trucking Litigation Group, and the Maritime Law Association of the United States. With knowledge and expertise in many different areas of personal injury law, in 1990, Steve Gordon received his Personal Injury Trial Law Board Certification from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a group accredited by the Supreme Court of Texas. Steve Gordon is also able to practice at the federal judiciary level, representing clients in the Eastern, Middle, and Western Louisiana US District Courts and the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Texas US District and US Bankruptcy Courts.
Steve Gordon passed the Texas State Bar in 1985 and the Louisiana State Bar in 1996. Due to his state bar results, Steve Gordon was able to opt into the Washington, D.C. Bar. Studying Political Science and Philosophy at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Steve Gordon received a Bachelor of Arts with a Minor in Latin before moving to Texas to pursue his passion for legal work, achieving his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law.
