Steve Connelly – co-founder of GetMoreLocal

 

Has over 20 years experience in consulting to business owners on growth strategies and in running his own specialist consultancy.  Steve’s main focus is roll out strategies for the GetMore projects in the UK and internationally.

 

After a successful 10 years in retail management Steve chose a change in direction and trained as a financial adviser.  During 12 years with several major companies (Prudential, AXA Equity & Law, and J. Rothschild Assurance) Steve honed his skills in Sales and Sales Management with a number of notable achievements. He also made a name for himself in both his retail career and his FS career in turning loss-making units or teams into highly profitable ones.

 

In1998, using the skills and knowledge he had acquired, Steve became an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) and started his own business (see 3rrr Group below).  During this time he became one of the most qualified IFAs in the UK. During the past 12 years 3rrr Group has focused on delivering bespoke strategic, tax and financial planning solutions for SME business owners and wealthy individuals.

 

In 2004 Steve joined Judith Hunt to create the strategy for developing and launching bizunlimited.  He became full-time in 2005 and, after 3 years in development, bizunlimited was launched in late 2007.  This succesful management team then went on to create the concept of GetMoreLocal which has now expanded into additional community focused social projects including GetMoreBikes and Thrifty Couture which launch in the summer of 2011

 

As a professional strategist Steve brings financial expertise and senior management experience to GetMore and is responsible for the overall structure and strategy of the company, operations and international development.  In addition, Steve's backgound as commercial adviser to a number of businesses to help the business/owner managers to achieve their business ambitions and their personal ambitions in harmony, puts him in the perfect place to help the individual projects move forward successfully under the management of the individuals running them
