Stephen O'Halloran is a professional football player born on November 29, 1987 in Cork, which is located in Republic of Ireland. As of 2008, he plays for Aston Villa as a specialist defender, who plays in the left-back position and wears the number 29 jersey.
Stephen O'Halloran represented Republic of Ireland at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17, and Under-21 levels. On May 16, 2007, he was selected to play for the nation’s squad during its tour of America, and he played in matches against Ecuador and Bolivia.
Stephen O'Halloran started his football career by playing for the youth team of Springfield AFC, which is based in Cork and played there till 2003. He was signed to play for Aston Villa’s youth team for three seasons from July 2003 to 2006. Aston Villa selected him in the squad for the 2006-2007 pre-season friendly matches, and he signed a new contract with Aston Villa by the end of that season, which ensured that Stephen O'Halloran will play for the club till 2009.
During his tenure at Aston Villa, Stephen O'Halloran had an opportunity to play for other clubs on loan. He was first loaned out to Wycombe Wanderers for the 2006-07 season, and he played an important role in guiding this team to the semi-finals of the Carling Cup. On January 16, 2008, Stephen O'Halloran was loaned by Southampton Football Club for a period of a month and he made only one appearance for the club as a substitute in one game. He was named BBC Radio WM Young Player of the Month for his impressive performance in January 2008. He agreed to play for Leeds United on loan for a month starting February 28, 2008 following which he returned to the Aston Villa squad.
