Lawrence made his first appearance at a poker tournament in September 2005 in the Late Night Poker Ace Series 1, Cardiff in Wales. There he finished at 7th place and took a prize of $2.000. His next appearance was in August 2006 in the Second Chance Bounty Invitational, Las Vegas – No-Limit Hold’em where he achieved his first win. He took the 1st place and a check for $50.000.
