Accountable for managing, improving and implementing a new Group Infrastructure & Operations Team with processes for the day to day support functions, including:
Data Centre Operations, PC Support, PC Installations, Service Desk, Voice and Data Networks, Mobile Network, telephony, Service Delivery and infrastructure project deliveryKEY ACHIEVEMENTS
• Designed, negotiated and implemented a ‘blended' (in sourced & out sourced) IT service model, specific to integration of two disparate IT infrastructures, service models and organisations, which delivers significant service improvements whilst reducing the IT operating cost by £1.1M annually
• Implemented a new Group IT Service Desk serving circa 1100 employees across two head office sites, remote locations and 870 Managed Pubs
• Fully managed the organisational changes (through consultation processes) after acquisition to build a single Group Infrastructure & Operations function
• Migration from Lotus Notes & Exchange 2003 to new Exchange 2007
• Migration from Novell NDS and MS AD to new MS AD
• Implementation of VMWare to rationalise physical server environment
• Installation of new centralised shared storage solution
• Designed and negotiated a line consolidation project for Managed Pubs that not only reduced costs but provided a technology platform for future IP services in the pub
