About Simon Davies


Simon Davies is a Welsh midfielder born on October 23, 1979 in Haverfordwest. On the international stage, he made his debut for the Wales national football team in June 2001, against Ukraine in a World Cup qualifier. Simon Davies gave his all time best performance against Italy in a 2-1 win in October 2002, at the Millennium Stadium, where he scored the opening goal. He was voted the Player of the Season for 2002-03 by his fans and as of 2008, he has made 50 appearances for the team and scored 6 times.


Simon Davies started off as a trainee with the Wrexham Football Club and went on to join the Peterborough United F.C., at the age of 15. He became a senior team member with the club and appeared in over 50 games. Simon Davies joined the Tottenham Hotspur F.C in 1999 and made his debut against Liverpool in April 2000. In February 2001, he scored twice in the Football Association (FA) Cup 5th round tie against Stockport County. He became a first-team regular for the club and made 154 appearances with 24 goals in all.


Simon Davies got his first opportunity to play in the Europe's premier football competition, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Champions League, after signing with the Everton F.C. in May 2005. He struck the winning goal for Everton against the Birmingham City F.C., and the team won a match after two months. In January 2007, Simon Davies signed with Fulham and made his Premiership debut against Sheffield United. He was voted as the Fulham's Player of the Season for 2007-08.
