About Simon Blint
Well-seasoned customer service professional Simon Blint is the Head of Visitor Services at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA). In his position at one of America’s busiest and most prestigious modern art museums, Simon Blint directs the experiences of 750,000+ SFMOMA visitors every year.
Simon Blint is responsible for overseeing and coordinating SFMOMA’s front-line staff, as well as acting as a liaison between various museum departments. This involves balancing the needs of a large and diverse group of employees while guaranteeing that museum operations run smoothly. Simon Blint’s managerial efforts allow staff to focus on visitor experience improvements which benefit museum attendance and customer satisfaction.
Furthermore, Simon Blint also serves the crucial role of visitor advocate. The day-to-day operations of SFMOMA rely to a great extent on the leadership skills of Simon Blint, whose abilities translate directly into the public face of the museum. Simon Blint works with curators, as well as other staff across the museum, to ensure that SFMOMA’s visitors experience a transparent and effortless entry process, and that every aspect of their museum visit is both enjoyable and rewarding. Through participating in the development and implementation of audio tours and other educational resources, Simon Blint has proven fundamental to designing the user experience of SFMOMA.
In 2009 Simon Blint led SFMOMA’s front-line staff through the most highly attended exhibition in SFMOMA’s 75 year history while simultaneously decreasing visitor wait times. As such, Simon Blint has proven instrumental in SFMOMA’s continued growth and ability to remain on the vanguard of America’s modern art institutions. SFMOMA attracts visitors from the greater San Francisco–area, but it also hosts visitors from around the world—and it is because of the efforts of Simon Blint, and the many other dedicated SFMOMA staff, that both local residents and international art lovers keep coming back.
On February 4, 2010, SFMOMA announced that it had raised $250 million for its expansion and endowment programs. Simon Blint and his team are working to ensure this expansion will help cement SFMOMA’s reputation as offering a world-class visitor experience.
