I am a Registered General Nurse & Midwife with a Science Degree from the Open University & I live in the beautiful City of Durham. I work part time as a nurse & have decided to venture into the world of web design with Activ Web where the aim is to provide a professional, local & personal service to customers in plain English & without any hidden costs.

As well as the above I have in the past been a member of the Royal Observer Corps & the Territorial Army serving in the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps as a Captain in a field hospital then a field ambulance. I have also done a course in dog grooming & have been involved with various charities usually to do with animals, dogs in particular. I am currently owned by two adorable Curly Coated Retrievers (CCR's) & enjoy spending time with them doing various dog related activities, they have both passed the Bronze & Silver Kennel Club Good Citizen Awards, we would like to go for Gold next but will need some more training before attempting that!! Before them I had German Shepherds (GSD's) & a crossbreed, one of the GSD's became a PAT (Pets as Therapy) dog & I became Area Co-ordinator in Durham & Assessor of dogs for the PAT Charity giving up this role when I no longer had the dog.

I have been diagnosed with MS & am a member of the MS Society so I have a special interest in people with illness & disabilities, this helps make me more sensitive & flexible to those who have or provide services in these areas.

As you can see I have a background in a wide variety of things giving me a broad outlook & a flexible, friendly approach & I really enjoy meeting people so don't be a stranger, get in touch especially if you have anything in common , more so if you are in the Durham area & would like a website promoting your business .
