As the head of Al Fajer Properties, a division of the international conglomerate Al Fajer Group, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Hasher Al Maktoum focuses on stimulating economic development in Dubai through the expansion of commercial real estate. During his tenure as President of Al Fajer Properties, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Hasher Al Maktoum has spearheaded a number of major projects, including the Jumeirah Lake Towers project, which is a mixed-use commercial high rise in the heart of Dubai.
Committed to improving the transparency of real estate development in Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum recently oversaw the creation of Oqood. Formed through collaboration between Al Fajer Properties and the Dubai Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA), Oqood is a unique web-based real estate registration system that can track the sale, titling, and transfer of all commercial property development projects in Dubai. Since the development of Oqood, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum has implemented the software in all official Al Fajer Properties’ business, setting a strong precedent for reliability and transparency in Dubai real estate development.
Outside of his leading work in Dubai real estate, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Hasher Al Maktoum is an avid sportsman and the current Chair of the Al Nasr Sports Club, which is the UAE’s oldest professional football team. His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum was formally appointed to his Chairmanship in April 2009. His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Hasher Al Maktoum also founded the A1 Grand Prix, a unique F1 racing event that pits national teams from around the world against one another in an international competition. The inaugural A1 Grand Prix occurred in 2005.
