He appeared in two Euro 2008 qualifiers against Macedonia and Croatia and played on the right wing.

Shaun Wright-Phillips started his professional football career by playing at Nottingham Forest’s youth team in 1993 and played there till 1996, after which he was taken into Manchester City’s youth team. This impressive performance gave him the chance to start in many of the club’s games that followed, which included the Football Association Challenge (FA) Cup final that Chelsea won. This right-winger maintained his starting place during the start of the 2007-2008 season and was also selected to play in the League Cup final. Shaun Wright-Phillips had made a total of 82 appearances and 4 goals during his tenure at Chelsea Football Club.
