About Shane Hedges
Shane Hedges is the former Chief Policy Director for Montana governor Judy Martz. As the youngest-ever chief policy advisor in Montana’s history, Shane Hedges oversaw the project to create the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity. Shane also helped shepard legislation to produce a business climate that spawned a USD $300M budget surplus. Taking a comprehensive approach to the legislative agenda, Shane Hedges led a cabinet with 13 staff members and a policy staff of 4 individuals to develop an effective strategic policy that correctly carried out the administration’s operational plan. During this time, Shane Hedges was also an essential go-between for the Governor and the citizens of Montana and other political figures.
Today, Shane Hedges acts as the President of a well-known national company. Mr. Hedges was first employed as the Managing Director of Education (MDE) and oversaw development of scalable and profitable programs that fused operational and financial efficiency. The MDE role challenged Shane Hedges to nurture leadership skills. Hedges also led a team that expanded the size and scope of the firm's programs. His success led, in turn, to Hedges’ promotion to President of the company. Today, Shane Hedges continues to ensure that goals are met and operations are profitable for his firm. Much of what Mr. Hedges does is concerned not only with the reach of the company on a global scale, but also with providing thought leadership for his firm. The policies Shane Hedges developed have led to high customer satisfaction and increased communications between the company and the public. Shane has also worked to improve inter-office communications.
Shane Hedges attended the Washington, D.C. campus of American University as an undergraduate, taking his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, Law, Economics, and Government. Following the receipt of his undergraduate degree, Shane traveled to nearby College Park, Maryland, where he enrolled in the University of Maryland. Shane Hedges received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland in 2006.
In 2003, Shane Hedges shifted his professional focus from politics to business management when he enrolled at the University of Maryland to complete his Master’s degree in Business Management. Shane Hedges concurrently took on a role as Deputy Director of Finance at EEMI, a company that designs a variety of experiential education programs for high-achieving students. At EEMI, Shane Hedges found his niche and quickly advanced to positions of increasing responsibility. Shane Hedges was offered the role of Managing Director of Education, taking the lead on some of EEMI’s key projects and successfully doubling the company’s net profit over the course of three years.
Today, Shane Hedges serves as EEMI’s President; his influence extends to all aspects of the company, including business growth, executive leadership, and program development. Since taking on the role of President, Shane Hedges has become well known among colleagues and clients alike for his deep industry knowledge and unique vision for the company.
When he is not working, Shane Hedges enjoys reading, traveling, running, and spending time with his family and friends.
