Currently serving as Chief of the Division of Spine Surgery at Franklin Hospital, part of the Northshore-Long Island Jewish Health System, Dr. Sebastian Lattuga specializes in the treatment of spinal traumas such as those inflicted through car accidents or severe falls. He also treats degenerative spinal conditions such as spinal stenosis, herniated disks, and chronic back pain, using minimally invasive surgery when possible.
A graduate of New York’s Stony Brook University Medical Center School of Medicine, Dr. Sebastian Lattuga went on to post-graduate programs at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he completed a research fellowship and his internship in General Surgery; Stony Brook, where he served his residency in Orthopedic Surgery; and Jackson Memorial Hospital, affiliated with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he received a fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Spine Surgery and Pain Management. In addition to his work with Franklin Hospital, Dr. Sebastian Lattuga practices at New York Spinal Specialists, a private office with locations in Lake Success, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Kew Gardens.
A member of the Medical Society of the State of New York and a Board-certified surgeon, Dr. Sebastian Lattuga has over 20 years of experience and has treated thousands of patients. His reputation as a top spinal surgeon was recently confirmed as he was named among the top 1% of physicians in the New York Metropolitan Area by the medical survey company Press Ganey Associates, Inc. Along with this distinction, Dr. Sebastian Lattuga has been named the official spine surgeon of the Long Island Lizards, a professional lacrosse franchise based on Long Island. Dr. Lattuga also holds membership with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, and the Nassau County Medical Society.
