About Sean Rousseau
Reverend Sean Rousseau grew up in Annandale, Virginia, where he got his grounding in Catholic education by attending St. Michael Catholic School. He graduated from Bishop Ireton High School in nearby Alexandria and enrolled in Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, Overbrook in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. Reverend Sean Rousseau received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and answered his calling to the priesthood by pursuing a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Systematic Theology.
As an undergraduate, Reverend Sean Rousseau spent two years teaching classes at Archbishop Ryan School for Deaf Children in Norwood. While in the Theology Division of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, Reverend Rousseau accepted another yearlong teaching assignment at Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic High School in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Other internships included two consecutive summers in Key West, Florida, in a ministry at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church; a jail ministry in Boyds, Pennsylvania at Montgomery County Correctional Facility; and a chaplain ministry at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
A few days after receiving his Master of Divinity, Reverend Sean Rousseau was ordained into the Deaconate by the Catholic Diocese of Arlington. He was assigned a deacon summer parish ministry at The Parish of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Fredericksburg, Virginia, followed by a deacon year parish ministry at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church in Parkesburg, Pennsylvania. Upon completing his yearlong ministry, the Catholic Diocese of Arlington ordained Reverend Rousseau as a Roman Catholic Priest.
Over the next 15 years, Reverend Rousseau was assigned to six neighboring Virginia parishes. He served as an Associate Priest at Saint Leo the Great Catholic Church in Fairfax, Saint John the Apostle Catholic Church in Leesburg, Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Annandale, and Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Alexandria. He also held the role of Priest at Saint Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church in Middleburg and at Corpus Christi Catholic Mission in South Riding.
After serving 15 years as a Roman Catholic Priest with the Catholic Diocese of Arlington in Virginia, Reverend Sean Rousseau joined the Episcopal Church in 2010, and in 2011, he was received as an Episcopal Priest by the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia. Currently, Reverend Sean Rousseau serves as Interim Assistant Rector at Christ Episcopal Church in Winchester, Virginia, while waiting to be assigned his own parish.
