About Scott Tolbert
Considered an expert in the legal practices related to divorce and defense of people accused of driving under the influence, Georgia-based Lawyer Scott Tolbert manages a busy law firm dedicated to general practice. As the Chief Executive Officer of The Scott R. Tolbert Law Firm, he focuses on criminal defense and such civil areas as family law, torts, real estate, and bankruptcy. Maintaining strict levels for client confidentiality and service, he continues to build his thriving practice.
Before launching his current firm, Scott Tolbert held roles as Partner in two law firms. He practiced at Tolbert-Elrod, Attorneys-at-Law, from 1993 to 2005 before co-founding Tolbert-Bradford, Attorneys-at-Law. Throughout his nearly 20 years of private practice as an attorney, he developed a strong clientele while also achieving a number of political goals. In 1988 and 1989, he served as a Councilmember for the City of Pendergrass. He later campaigned successfully to achieve the post of Mayor for that city, a position he undertook while also attending Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. In 1997, Tolbert won the first of two terms in office as a Georgia State Representative.
During his time in the Georgia House of Representatives, Scott Tolbert provided a voice for his constituents in Jackson and Hall counties. He wrote and sponsored legislation concerning driver’s licenses, penalties for traffic-related offenses, education, property and sales taxes, and insurance. He also gained approval from the House of Representatives for a comprehensive study of early childhood.
Scott Tolbert retains an active position in the Jackson County Republican Party and adjudicates misdemeanors, traffic offenses, and other issues as a Judge for the communities of Nicholson and Pendergrass.
