About Scott Fischman


Scott Fischman was born in 1980 in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. Now he is an American professional poker player residing in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Although Scott Fischman was born in Langhorne he was raised in Somers Point, New Jersey. In 1992 he moved to Las Vegas and that is where he first encountered poker. Scott Fischman was introduced to the game by a school friend who was the grandson of a former World Series of Poker champion. He became hooked by the game very quickly and wanted to play with his friends as often as he could. When Scott Fischman turned 21 he immediately became a poker dealer at the Mirage. That did not turn out good for him as he developed Rheumatoid Arthritis, which attacks the joints in hands. That was what made him end that profession and sent him on the way to becoming a professional poker player.

Scott Fischman first appeared in a live tournament on November 20th, 2001 in the $300,000 Fall Poker Classic - Limit Hold'em event, where he placed 2nd and won $4,015. His first big win came three years later on April 30th, 2004 when he entered the 35th Annual World Series of Poker. In Event #9 - WSOP No Limit Hold'em Scott Fischman placed 1st for the firs time in his poker career, taking home $300,000. One month later he entered Event #12 - WSOP Limit H.O.R.S.E, where he once again took 1st place and won $100,200. Scott Fischman`s biggest cash in was on June 3rd, 2005 in the 36th Annual World Series of Poker - Event #2 - WSOP No Limit Hold'em, where he placed 2nd and won $352,125. His last participation in a live tournament was on February 29th, 2008 in the NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship, where he placed 9th and won $25,000

Scott Fischman is also into playing poker online and is consistently winning big online tournaments. He is considered as one of the best online players. Scott Fischman recently opened his own online card room named TheFishTank.com, on the Doyle Brunson Poker Network.

As of 2008, Scott Fischman has 3 first place finishes, 2 WSOP bracelets, 71 cashes and total live tournament winnings over $2,200,000.
