About Scott Cathcart
In 2004, Scott Cathcart founded Veristeel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Veristeel’s advanced approach to product development and automated manufacturing processes has made it a leading R&D engine for the modular building industry.
At Veristeel, Scott Cathcart introduced a largely computer-based assembly line to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce labor costs. Across the company, new technologies and a large-scale-production orientation driven by Scott Cathcart’s leadership have positioned Veristeel at the cusp of unlocking the global construction marketplace for United States modular building manufacturers.
In 2009, Scott Cathcart traveled to Baghdad, Iraq at the invitation of the US Department of Defense as part of an industry consortium exploring ways to leverage the capacity of the United States’ modular construction industry to help accelerate Iraq reconstruction.
Committed to the further development of the modular building sector, Scott Cathcart served on the board of the Modular Building Institute from 2007-2009. Scott Cathcart received his BA from the University of Virginia and is currently a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, where he enjoys marathon running, cycling, and spending time with his wife, Whitney Cathcart, and their children.
Scott Cathcart’s volunteer commitments include seven years of service on the advisory board of the University of Virginia’s Gift Planning Council, and founding participation on the Ross School Next Century Committee, which launched the initial pursuit of public bond financing for the reconstruction of the local Ross K-8 public school.
